AnnElla Joubert
AnnElla Joubert's love for color has led her
down many creative path's; and her experimentation with many
different media has taught her the benefits and limitations of
each. using oil, water color ,acrylic, and pastel she often
mixes media to achieve her goal. Primarily an
impressionist, Joubert also paints abstractly. I love to watch
the color transform the paper or canvas into images and
illusions. A diverse artist she also writes poem and songs about
her paintings. Ann Ella illustrated a book ( The Mermaid of
Bayou Caillou ) written by Christy Viviano. She has been painting seriously for many years,
she is mostly
self-taught learning from books , videos , workshops and life
itself .She has studied with notable artist as Albert Handel,
Maxine Masterfield, Miles Bates, Judi Betts, and Douglas Walton,
while the works of Monet, Renoir ,John Singer Sargent and Berta
Morrisot continue to challenge her. Her greatest inspiration
comes from God "Without him I would be nothing. With him I can be
everything I want to be"
AnnElla's work has been part of exhibits and juried shows
throughout the southeast, and she has received numerous awards.

Margaret Melancon
I received my first camera (a Polaroid) thirty-three years
ago. I graduated from the Polaroid to a 110, and then a
35mm. For me "life began at 42" when I entered
my first competition. I received 7 ribbons including 2
firsts and a Sweepstakes. I have been entering
competitions and placing for the last 15 years. As a
photographer I was self taught mainly by reading photo
articles, observation, and trial and error. After 27
years of taking pictures I took my first classes with Richard
Wallis and Danny Izzo. I always critique my pictures as to
whether it would be a prize winner. In the last year, I
have discovered digital, and think this is the only way to
go. I enjoy taking pictures of Louisiana life whether it
is flowers, people or scenic. I also had begun painting
at 42 and have studied charcoal, pen and ink, oil, pastel,
watercolor, and Chinese brush painting with Yvette Boutte,
Mart Fielding, Margo Delahoussaye, Cathy Kieffe, Ann Junka and
John Bienvenu.
